Pokémon Unite was first announced in 2020 during a Pokémon Presents stream and was release in 2021. This game is co-developed by Tencent Games and TIMI Studio Group. I feel like it deserves a spot on this list as you do technically play with quite a lot of players at once though it would normally not be considered an MMORPG by traditional standards. Though not entirely an MMORPG as we know it, Pokémon Unite is a free-to-play anime MOBA/MMO game based on the Pokémon franchise.
